Dear friends,

Several of you have asked for a photo of the art that I referenced in my sermon yesterday. It is pasted below.  “From the Depths” by Canadian-American artist Wiliam Balfour Ker was painted in 1906, but it could be a political cartoon from our own day. The sermon is posted.

We have several opportunities to help our neighbors in the coming weeks.

First, we are collecting food for the Solidarity Sandy Springs food pantry. Bring it to the narthex and we will get it to them. You can also make a financial donation at their website, www.solidaritysandysprings.org.

Second, we have committed to providing 50 bags of ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner side dishes for Emmaus House. They must be in by Sunday, November 16. To sign up go to www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4FACAA28AA8-59943122-holiday,

Third, we are also collecting cash gifts for Christmas for our refugee family. And if you have any Christmas decorations in excellent condition that you would like to donate, please put them on the bench in the hallway. We need both cash gifts and decorations by Sunday, November 23.

And finally, if you have not turned in your pledge card for 2026, please do so as soon as possible so that budget planning for the new year can begin. Sending it in now also means not getting a phone call from the stewardship committee!

with love,
Tricia
