Dear friends,

I am writing with the good news that as of this afternoon we have a new choir director/organist. Paul Campbell will conduct his first choir rehearsal on August 20 and his first Sunday with us will be August 24. Paul is an accomplished organist, pianist, and conductor. Among his degrees are a masters in sacred music from Duquesne University. He is currently the organist at First United Methodist Church in Peachtree City. He is happy to be coming back to a liturgical church, and to be in the joint roles of director and organist.

There are many people to thank in connection with this decision. First, many thanks to Julie Bunn for filling in for us this summer. I have written to her and hope she will be with us through August 17.  Thanks to the search committee — Susie Throop, Matthew McCawley, John Morgan, Steve Hauser, and Elizabeth Wong Mark, who have helped me in interviewing and listening to Paul. And thanks to the choir. When, as part of the interview process, Paul conducted a choir rehearsal last week 19 singers showed up. Paul was impressed by that, and the choir was impressed by him.

St. Dunstan’s has had a long history of an excellent music program, and I expect this new chapter with Paul will continue that tradition. I look forward to officially welcoming Paul into the community next month.

With love,

Tricia
