Dear friends,

It is good to be back in the office after a much needed two weeks off. Other than a few trips to Chattanooga we were at home, watching all the inaugural festivities and other news, sleeping late, reading mindless mysteries, puttering around the house, and best of all playing with our two new kittens, who are an endless source of entertainment. It was just what I needed.

There are a couple of things to share with you. First, Betty Whittier’s funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. It will be a graveside service at Arlington Cemetery. Parishioners are invited, wearing masks and keeping appropriate distance. In fact, I could use two or three lectors for the service, Betty’s family would prefer not to read or speak. So if you’re coming and don’t mind reading a lesson or two please let me know.

Second, our host week for Family Promise begins February 14. All of our volunteer slots are full except for someone to spend the night on Wednesday (the 17th) and Thursday (the 18th). Remember that the families will be staying at Roswell Presbyterian Church, so that is where the overnight volunteers will be. If you can do one of those nights please volunteer by clicking on the SignUp Genius button on our website, www.stdunstan.net.

The Compline service for this week is attached.

This picture perfectly captures the personality of our kittens. Franny, aka the Love Bug, watches in bemusement as her brother Zooey, aka the Maniac, trains for the Feline Olympics.
