Dear friends,
This is one last reminder that tomorrow is the annual Blessing of the Animals at both services. Please bring your favorite critters (or their pictures) to receive a blessing. There will be no Sunday School tomorrow.
Also, Monday at 11 a.m. is the funeral service for Antoinette Watts, a former parishioner and sister of Marshall Kress. All are invited to attend.
Finally, I am sharing this email from the diocesan office about the Pride Parade, which is Sunday, October 12. The timing is not great for those of us who have church responsibilities, but the Episcopal Church will have a strong presence at the parade, and at a special Eucharist at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s (which is on the parade route). The preacher for that service will be retired Bishop Gene Robinson, who in 2003 was the first openly gay person to be elected bishop in the Episcopal Church. He is an excellent speaker.
See you and your creatures tomorrow.
With love,
Tricia

Join us for Atlanta Pride! On October 12, thousands will gather in Atlanta to celebrate Pride, and we want you to walk with our group. Please register to walk here. All walkers will receive an email with the need-to-knows next week. The first 100 walkers receive a diocesan Pride t-shirt! Date: Sunday, October 12, 2025 Time: 11:45a arrival Parade begins at 12p With gratitude, we invite you to join a special Pride Sunday liturgy at St. Luke’s, Atlanta, on the morning of the parade. While the separate Pride Eucharist historically planned by the LGBTQ+ Commission will not take place due to a leadership transition on the Commission, St. Luke’s is located on the parade route and has special festivities planned for the occasion. ![]() |
On Pride Sunday, the Adult Choir will present the southeastern premiere of Dominick DiOrio’s Our Wildest Imagining, a work for choir, organ, and brass quintet. The libretto draws from the words of The Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, Psalm 27, and other sources. Bishop Gene Robinson will discuss the work, commissioned in his honor, and his ministry at the 9a Forum. Bishop Gene Robinson will preach at the 10a Eucharist. |
