Dear friends,

I’m writing with the sad news that our long-time parishioner, Mimi Doctor, died earlier today. There will be visitation at Patterson’s Sandy Springs tomorrow evening from 6-8 p.m. She will have a Romanian Orthodox funeral at Arlington Cemetery on Monday at 3:30 p.m. We will have a service for her at St. Dunstan’s sometime next month. Please keep Tito and all Mimi’s family in your prayers. Tomorrow is Mimi and Titu’s 61st wedding anniversary.

I also remind you that three weeks from tomorrow, May 19, is Pentecost, St. Dunstan’s Day, and the celebration of the 60th anniversary of our founding. There will be one service at 10 a.m., followed by a catered lunch. We do need a head count for the lunch. There is a sign up sheet on the table under the owl picture, or you can email me or Claudia to let us know you’re coming.

As part of that anniversary we are having a campaign to raise $25,000 to continue the beautification of our grounds. We are almost halfway there! You can make your donation online or by check. Just mark that it is for the grounds.

The service leaflet for tomorrow is attached. Hope to see you then.

Tricia

“O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of your servant Mimi, and grant her an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of your saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.”

“Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: Deal graciously with Titu and all of Mimi’s family and friends in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed with their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
