Dear friends,
Right now the parish hall is full of women at a flower arranging workshop led by floral artist Josh Borden. The arrangements they have created for tomorrow are breathtaking. Their beauty will be scattered around the church, so keep your eye out for them.
We originally planned for author Diana Butler Bass to be our guest preacher and teacher tomorrow, but her travel plans got changed, so she will not be here. You’ve got me (and Joe for Sunday school) instead. I will get to be with her on Monday and Tuesday at our annual clergy conference, so I will be passing on her wisdom in the weeks to come.
We’ve got several big events coming up in the next few weeks.
First, if you are interested in participating in Dunstan Dines, small dinner groups of 6-8 parishioners, please sign up in the parish hall tomorrow. If you aren’t going to be here, but want to participate let me know. We will be putting the groups together this week.
A week from tomorrow, October 2, is our annual Blessing of the Animals at both services. Bring your furry, finned, or feathered friends to be blessed. Please have all dogs on leashes and other animals in boxes or carriers. And bring a bag of cat or dog food to donate to local shelters.
The next Sunday, October 9, is the return of the Flying Pig BBQ. Lunch will be served after the 10:45 service. Plan to bring a dish and stay for the fun.
The service sheet for tomorrow is attached. Hope to see you then.
