Dear friends,
My wise friend Bob Longino wrote me this morning saying that it saddened him that I was discouraging the tradition of excellent postlude music. I reread what I wrote and see that it could be taken that way. That was not my intent and I am sorry. I don’t mean to discourage those who enjoy the always excellent music, but to give permission to those who want or need to leave. One of the hallmarks of St. Dunstan’s is that although we are a small church the quality of our music is high. Cameron and the choir show that every week. My lesson in liturgy failed to honor that which is not what I meant for it to do. I’m sorry.
