Dear friends,

This year Halloween is on a Sunday, which seems a good thing to celebrate. We invite all the kiddos (and crazy adults) to wear their costumes to church. Nothing gory or violent, please. And we invite the adults to bring bags of candy so that the kids can trick or treat in the Beech Grove and back parking lot after church. It should be a fun day.

After Halloween, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We have been asked by Emmaus House to participate in their “Thanksgiving at Home” program. Emmaus House will provide turkeys for 200 families. We have been asked to help provide bags of “sides” for 50 families. For a specific list of what each bag should contain, go our SignUp Genius link below. You can sign up to bring the bags of food to the church between November 14-16, and to help deliver then to Emmaus House on November 17. Thanks to Vivian Siggers and Mimi Gold for heading this project up. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4FACAA28AA8-thanksgiving

Finally, I am squeezing in my last week of vacation for the year beginning tomorrow. I’ll be back in the office on October 25. Maggie will be your celebrant and preacher this Sunday. On the 24th Bill Deneke will preach and Deborah Silver will celebrate. You’ll be in good hands.
