Dear friends,
Today we enter into the Triduum, the three days before the resurrection. Tonight at 7 we will gather online for the Maundy Thursday liturgy, commemorating the last night of Jesus’ earthly life. Tomorrow evening we gather for the Good Friday liturgy, the most solemn of the year, as we remember Jesus’ crucifixion and death. And Saturday evening we celebrate the Easter Vigil, a service commemorating God’s acts of salvation throughout history, culminating in the resurrection. You can join us for all of these services online at 7 p.m. each evening.
Of course, these services won’t be exactly the same as if we were celebrating in the church. We’ve had to adapt to fit the circumstances. One thing I truly regret is that we won’t be able to baptize Georgina Armstrong at the Vigil as we had planned. But Georgie is having a great time in quarantine with her parents, Mary Alice and Richard. She has celebrated her first birthday and taken her first steps. We look forward to baptizing this sweetheart when we are all back together again.
See you tonight at 7.
