Dear friends,

What a glorious Holy Week and Easter we had! That stretch from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday is the most labor intensive time of the year, but the liturgies are all so powerful that all the hard work is more than worth it. It truly does take a village, or a congregation, to put it all together. There are so many people to thank. Forgive me for not naming everyone individually. There’s the altar guild, that set up for five totally different liturgies. The flower guild for their breathtaking arrangements. Ralph Paulk for making sure every service was live-streamed. For Brian and the choir, who spent hours in planning and preparation and made beautiful music for every service,. For Claudia for churning out five beautiful service bulletins (and Rhea for folding them).  For all who participated as lectors and lay readers. For Colin and Maggie, who shared in the preaching and officiating. I am deeply grateful to all of you.

There is one schedule change for this month that you need to know about, On April 26th we will have our annual parish meeting. It’s the time we affirm new vestry members, and take a look back at the previous year. We have a special treat this year that everyone is going to love. As we have done in the past few years, the meeting will be part of the worship for that day. We’ll have one service at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch.

I am leaving for Ghana this Sunday — flying first to New York, then to Accra, followed by a four-hour bus ride to Cape Coast. I won’t be here the next two Sundays. Colin will be with you this Sunday, and Maggie the next. I get back on the 20th, and plan to be in the office the next day. Please keep our diocesan group in your prayers as we travel. I look forward to sharing stories with you when I get back.

With love,

Tricia
