Dear friends,

I hope that all of you have weathered the storm safely — that your trees are where they are supposed to be (and not in your house), and that you have electricity. The church lost power for a while, and there are a couple of leaks in the parish hall, but overall things are good.

I returned from an amazing trip to the Canadian Rockies on Thursday morning (on the redeye). After seeing waterfalls, avalanches, and boulder fields, I was going to write something about the power of water. Somehow that doesn’t seem appropriate in the aftermath of Helene, when so many are still suffering. But I will have more to say, and show, from my trip later.

Tomorrow is one of the most fun services of the year, the annual Blessing of the Animals. You are welcome to bring the furry, feathered, and finned members of your family to either service to be blessed. There will not be Sunday School. The service bulletin is attached.

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

With love,

Tricia
