Dear friends,

Sunday is a day that I will always remember. There are services when everything seems to come together and the presence of the Spirit is palpable. You can’t manufacture or predict it. But when it happens you can feel it. Sunday was one of those days for me. It was the fruition of almost two years of conversations with Kelly, the artist. There were times when I wondered if it was ever going to happen. But it turned out that the timing was perfect, an excellent way to mark the fifth anniversary of Covid’s arrival to disrupt our lives.

I knew the icon would have deep meaning for me as a way to remember Joe. But I was surprised at how it affected everyone. There were lots of tears, and lots of reliving difficult days. I hope this icon will continue to tell the story of the pandemic and those who died long after my days at St. Dunstan’s are done (which is not anytime soon). Before leaving on Monday, Kelly hung the icon in the hall as you come in the front door so it it one of the first things you see when you come in.

This Sunday we are back to our regular schedule of services at 8:30 and 10:45. Sunday School will continue with the Lenten program with videos by Bishop Wright on Growing in Christ. Join us at 9:30 for lively discussion. Child care is available.
